The GDD acts as the centralized system providing information to data pools on the new attributes approved for use in the network. Early implementers choose those attributes that are a priority to them.

Only GDS Fast Track approved Attributes and ranges of Values reported in the GDD are allowed to be passed in the GDSN.

Current existing extensions tags will be used to pass the attributes and values.

A/VP Pairs in Use:

1. A single schema “template” of data structures that allow for the parsing of new attributes and their values in XML will be developed.
2. Suppliers and other sending partners are able to include high-priority attributes in transmitted XML documents immediately upon approval.
3. Recipient data pools and trading partners may pull expected attribute names and their value pairs from the GDD and use them to parse their XML documents
